Abstract: The traditional means of Chinese chessboard recognition depends on the character recognition, without the use of color information. A Chinese board recognition method based on color recognition and character recognition was proposed. The use of color recognition to maintain a state matrix, after each step away from the state matrix and color information can get the information of current chessboard, and restore the state matrix. The character recognition was taken as the supplement to exceptions of color recognition. The proposed method improves the efficiency of the chessboard recognition.
