Method of Testing Private Cloud Platform Service Capacity

摘要: 云计算系统具有高伸缩性,高可用性,性价比高等特点,成为学术界和工业界的研究热点。对于企业而言,使用公有云面临安全性和网络设施中断的风险,因此更倾向于将核心业务迁移至私有云平台。目前服务器评测方法和基准虽然已比较成熟,但不直接适用于云计算系统的评测,针对评测方法的缺失将导致搭建私有云供需不匹配的问题,提出了一种自适应、可扩展的私有云系统能力检测方法,可对基础设施即服务(Infrastructure as a Service,IaaS)云计算系统能力进行评测。本文提出的检测方法通过私有云平台提供的服务,动态扩展虚拟机数量,改变虚拟机硬件信息和操作系统类别,并根据用户的需求使用不同的负载模型进行评测。使用本方法对Openstack开源私有云平台的能力进行了评测,实验结果表明,得出系统最大支持能力,结果和用户实测一致,且成本更低,测试效率更高。

Abstract: The characteristics of cloud computing system has the high scalability, availability and low cost. It is focused by the academia and industry. As the company, they have to face the risk of public cloud security because the interruption of network. So, more and more companies want to use private cloud platform. Now, the testing method and benchmark of compute has yet to be mature, but it is not suitable for testing cloud computing system. The lack of testing methods will lead to mismatch between supply and demand in the private cloud. This paper proposes an adaptive and scalable method, which can test private cloud computing ability in IaaS(Infrastructure as a Service). This method can make automatic deployment according to the different needs of users and choose the suitable load model by change the number of virtual machine, hardware information and operating system. At last, this method is implemented in Openstack. The experimental results show that can make a low cost and improve efficiency.
