Abstract��To solve the problem about the real-time voice data traffic based on the narrow bandwidth in the wireless mobile General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) network, by analyzing some kinds of voice codec algorithm, a scheme was proposed in this paper, in which the G.723.1 codec algorithm was adopted and optimized. The experiment results confirmed that the real-time voice data traffic over the GPRS network is feasible. The scheme described in this paper can be widely applied to such as the long-distance cargo transport management, the open country exploration and other fields.
