尖拱型指纹图像中奇异点检测方法

Singular points detection method in tented arch fingerprints

摘要: 指纹图像中的奇异点携带着重要的指纹特征信息,因为有些尖拱型指纹图像中的核心点和三角点相隔很近,以至计算出的Poincare Index值相互抵消,结果接近于0,Poincare Index方法就会将该指纹判为拱型指纹,针对这一问题,对Poincare Index方法进行改进,提出了一种新的奇异点或参考点检测与计算方法。实验结果表明,该方法能很好地解决这一局限性问题。

Abstract: The singular points of fingerprint image carry important information. Because the central points are very close to the triangle points in some tented arch fingerprints, the computed Poincare Index values counteract each other approximately to the point of 0. Then, Poincare Index method will label this fingerprint image as arch image. Concerning this problem, Poincare Index method was improved by proposing a new detection and computation method of singular points or reference points. The experimental results show that this method can overcome the limitation mentioned above.
